prayer news

Folks – A couple of items to pray about…

Joanna Gall emailed that a good friend from her College (Kelsey) was in a serious car accident yesterday and was flown to Toledo Hospital.  She has internal bleeding and a punctured lung.

Also, Pastor Duane McNeil’s (a former pastor at Britton) mom died on Saturday.  If you’d like to write him, his email address is edmcneil@tnni.net.

BTW - Thanks to those who came last night to the business meeting!  We had a great time of fellowship, food and fun (how many churches can say that about their business meetings?).  Anyway, it was great to bring four new people into membership and hear the good reports from our various ministries.  Thanks for praying and participating!

prayer requests

Dear folks – a few prayer requests…

Becky Brososky is asking prayer for her aunt Barb who just found out she has cancer.  Please pray as they do more tests.  Also, Becky’s friend Wendy Stiles had a stent put in her heart artery yesterday (it was 70% blocked).

Continue to pray for Robin Heath in her back surgery recovery; Phillip Wright in his upcoming knee surgery on Friday; Libby Cochrane in her health issues; and Susie Billau in the recent loss of her mom.

Blessings!

Tecumseh service today

Thank you, Thank you! Great Job!  Impressive!  Wonderful service.  Lots of talent.  A real ministry.

These were some of the comments I heard about our service today.  I thought it went well.  We received several comments from folks standing around about how much they enjoyed the service.  The sound guy was very impressed with us and invited us back next year!  He said now that he knows what we’re like, he will prepare for us better (the only bad thing was the loud squeaks!).

Anyway – I just wanted to express my appreciation for all those who participated in the service and helped out with set-up and take down.  I’m praying that God will use this event to attract people to our church (and ultimately to Christ!).

REMEMBER to give today’s offering either tonight at church or next week.  You can also give it directly to Stacie McMullen sometime this week.  We don’t want the ministry to suffer financially because we are doing creative outreach!  If anything, we need it more!  We are still almost $5,000 behind on our YTD budget giving, so all the extra you can give at this time will be helpful.

A couple of updates…Susie Billau’s mom (Audrey Yates) is very ill and is at Herrick Manor.  Please pray for the family in this difficult time.  Also, continue to pray for Robin Heath as she recovers at home from her back surgery.  Some of you are helping with food, etc.  Thanks!

Some family news…Debbie will be leaving on Thursday of this coming week to be with Phillip for his knee surgery on Friday.  She’ll be gone for a week.  I’m also leaving on Thursday for two days to take a couple of the teens to Olivet University for a Christian College preview weekend (I’ll be back Saturday night).  Please pray for safety in travel.

We serve a great God!

Sunday events

Hey folks – just a reminder about the special ministry day tomorrow.  We are going to be meeting at the performance stage in downtown Tecumseh by the United Bank & Trust Building (right next door to Gregory’s Barber Shop).  There is parking at the bank and there is a tent with chairs set up in front of the stage, so you won’t need to bring anything to sit on.

We’ll be starting around 10:30am (there is another church before us, so if you want to come a little early, you can hear them, too!).  We have a great service planned with lots of specials – the praise band, a skit, a vocal solo and a men’s quartet.  You’ll also get to hear me preach on stage (won’t that be fun!).  Anyway – I hope you can be there.

We’ll have some literature to pass out from our church to those who are around.  Hopefully, there will be some curious visitors!  Dress casually (and warmly – it’s supposed to be in the low 60’s, but nice).

Please be praying for those who might hear us who don’t yet know Jesus; and also for those who may not be connected to a church – maybe they will come and visit us!

prayer requests

Hi Folks – just got a call from Sandy Fabbri.  She requested prayer for a friend of hers (Faith Perry) that some of you may know.  Faith was in a serious car accident today and is not expected to live.  She is currently on life support at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo.  She has two kids and is unmarried.  Faith’s parents (Dave and Evelyn) attended our church several years ago (and I assume Faith did, too).  I’m not sure I ever got the chance to meet them, but certainly will be praying for the family!  You can find out more info from Sandy if you’d like.

Also, Debbie & I visited with Robin Heath today and wanted to let you know that she is recovering at the hospital.  She is in a great deal of pain from the surgery, but is moving around some.  She will be there for the next week.  Please continue to pray for the family!  Thanks to those who have already offered to help with food, etc.  We will be scheduling help for them over the next couple of weeks.

See you Sunday!

Special poster - Who I am in Christ

Dear folks – Here’s a poster I found that is really helpful in understanding our identity in Christ. You might want to print it out and hang it in a prominent place to help remind yourself of who you are! Sometimes we forget.

praise and prayer

Dear folks – just wanted to let you know that Robin Heath’s back surgery went well and she is recovering this evening at the hospital.  The doctor was pleased with the six hour surgery (wow!) and said that she should be walking pain free in a short period of time.  Thanks to those who prayed for her!  She’s at St. Joe’s hospital if you’d like to drop her a line or call.  They will need some help with things as she recovers.  Let me know if you can help with something (food, chores, etc.)

Also – remember that this Sunday we’re having a missions emphasis with Bob, Esther and Peni Howder.  We’re talking about how we can know if God is calling us to a specific ministry or not.  Should be encouraging!

Thanks for praying for my family this week.  Phillip had knee surgery yesterday and preparing for another one in a few weeks.  He really messed up his knee!  He most likely will not be flying for the rest of the semester.  Pray for his studies and the ability to keep up with things while he is recovering for the next few months.
