Hey all – just wanted to let you know a couple of things happening…
First – some sad news - I found out yesterday around 5pm that my dad died. It was very sudden and somewhat unexpected. Most of you know that he has been struggling with Alzheimer’s disease for a while. He has been going downhill pretty quickly over the last few weeks, and just this weekend was struggling to eat. On Monday morning, he was sitting in his chair at the Assisted living home he was in and was doing fairly well (talking, etc.), and then about a half hour later, when they went to check on him again, he was dead! They aren’t sure why he died, but fortunately he didn’t seem to struggle.
I will be leaving on Wednesday with my family up to Owosso, Mi. for a couple of days to attend the funeral. Thanks to all who have expressed sympathy and prayers. We are glad that he is with the Lord and is not having to go through an extended time of suffering.
Also – I wanted to remind you again about the Missions Information Dinner for Steve Wright on Sunday after church. Please plan on attending with your family! He is really excited about the year-long international mission’s opportunity he will have this next year. We want to encourage him and enjoy some wonderful international food, too. At the dinner, you will be given an opportunity to support him through prayer, finances and words of encouragement.
